Full Sunshine & Warm

Today’s weather looks just about perfect for outside activities as skies will be sunny and temperatures will be warm. More of the same is expected on Wednesday, but look for more clouds during the afternoon and nighttime. Thursday features mostly sunny skies and a bump-up in temperatures. An isolated PM thunderstorm will be around. We will have an early-season burst of heat for Friday and Saturday before things cool off a bit while shower and thunderstorm chances go up.

Forecast Discussion

High pressure centered over the Tennessee Valley today will promote full sunshine and warm temperatures. Wednesday looks similarly nice, albeit with a few more clouds entering the picture.

A warm front lifts northward through the region on Thursday, heralding the arrival of an early season summer air mass. An isolated afternoon thunderstorm will be around on Thursday with the warm frontal passage.

Friday looks mostly sunny and rather hot. Over the weekend, another cold front will make an approach, moving into and perhaps through the Carolinas on Monday. Shower and thunderstorm coverage will start to increase, probably culminating late Sunday, although we will hold onto an isolated shower or thundershower on Monday as the front settles to our south and east.

After some rather hot weather, we will cool back off for Sunday and Monday.
