A cold front slowly moves toward western NC from the west today. Temperatures will be mild ahead of the front. Clouds will be on the increase and spotty light rain should develop during the morning.
The front moves through late in the day Monday but any rain ends early and temperatures will be well above average. After the front moves through, it stalls to our south. Temperatures will cool a good amount behind the front and a wave of low pressure will ride along the front Tuesday. Most of the rain Tuesday will be to our south but rain could pop up by afternoon. A similar scenario occurs Wednesday with cooler temperatures and a little more rain. Thursday will be a similar day but with steadier and more substantial rain as a stronger wave moves along the stalled front to our south.
The rain ends Friday morning and colder air moves in for the weekend. Temperatures will be below average Wednesday through Friday and even more so for the weekend despite lots of sunshine.
