...RAINFALL WINDING DOWN BUT FLOODING STILL POSSIBLE IN AND NEAR
THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS THIS MORNING...
.A low pressure system approaching from the west this morning is
poised to transition through the piedmont of the western Carolinas
later today. Southeasterly upslope flow may still wring out
moderate rain showers across the eastern escarpment of the
mountains, but widespread flooding is becoming less likely in some
areas. The Watch is being cancelled for locations farther from the
mountians across Georgia and South Carolina, but continued until 8
AM for eastern mountain locations and the immediately adjacent
foothills.

24 hours. Runoff on these saturated soil conditions may yet
produce flooding in low-lying and flood prone areas in and near
