A Significant Drop

A period of daytime cloudiness and perhaps a passing light shower will be followed by clearing skies later this afternoon. Temperatures take a tumble tonight, and Sunday will be noticeably cooler, or closer to mid-October norms. Next week features generally sunny skies with moderating temperatures after a crisp start.

Forecast Discussion

A fall cold front is on the doorstep. It will move through the Foothills around midday with some cloudiness and just a stray shower. Highs will occur by early afternoon, with temperatures slipping thereafter. You’ll notice a significant air mass change tonight through Sunday under a clear sky.

High pressure will dominate our weather next week. It will start out cool, but moderate steadily toward Wednesday and Thursday. Another cold front will push through Thursday night with more clouds and maybe a shower Thursday night. Temperatures cool down again a bit for late next week.

We have to wonder out loud if the high temperatures in the 80s that we experienced on Friday might be the warmest temperatures that we have until next spring.
